Innovations Lab Software automates prescription lens processing by providing a powerful set of functions designed to manage the process and business of lens manufacturing. The software is modular and can be custom configured to suit the specific operational needs and workstation arrangements of any size laboratory. Designed to run on single PC or over a network, Innovations is available in a variety of configurations.
The Kappa CT Tracer and Blocker elevate layout and blocking to a new level with its Technology. What used to be the most complicated part of the finishing process is now reduced to a simple touch of a button. With powerful software and little ingenuity, Kappa will accurately and precisely place a block in the exact location. Furthermore, Kappa offers the flexibility to customize frame shapes that meets today’s latest eyewear trends.
Automatic Binocular Tracing with High Performance Mode enables a complete frame trace including the DBL measurement and frame groove profile in less than 20 seconds. These exclusive features simplify and improve the lens fit in complex frames. And for today’s trendy small frames, Kappa CT accurately traces frames with a B dimension as small as 18 mm. The tracing software stores over 200 jobs, and Kappa CT may be configured to allow uploads to host systems for additional storage.
* 10" View Screen magnifies the downloaded job information and frame data and displays a computer-generated lens alignment template with no gridlines to obscure targets. Custom alignment templates are displayed for each lens type and may be changed for specific lenses. Accurate, automatic setup eliminates marking equipment, supplies, and labor.
* Internal Front Lens Camera displays the front side of the lens being laid out. This "parallax-free" viewing system ensures precise lens-to-target alignment by eliminating through-power distortion of images.
* Automatic Block and Lens Detection System alerts the user if a lens or block is not detected before blocking is initiated, assuring that all components are in place before initiating the blocking process.
* Small Diameter Blocking Fixture allows lenses to be generated and cribbed to 45 mm without inducing any error or interference at the generator. With this new fixture, labs can process a full range of lenses.
* Automatic Material Fill with Overflow Sensors automatically start and stop the flow of the blocking material, eliminating material overflow and making for simple, smooth blocking and deblocking of lenses. This feature also allows the operator to position the next lens for alignment or to download the next job. The blocked lens is automatically released when the cycle is complete.
* Turbo Chilling Chamber (turbo model only) reduces the time required to block lenses by 50%, increasing throughput up to 120 lenses per hour with the freebond model and up to 100 lenses per hour with the alloy model. The turbo chiller provides a reliable and consisten process for blocking lenses in any high-volume environment.
The SGX Plus Surface Generator provides progressive labs around the world with proven, high-performance cutting technology for CR39, hi-index, and polycarbonate lenses. Compact and intelligent, the SGX Plus processes all lenses totally free of elliptical error. Its computer-controlled precision provides a low-stress means of generating exact prescription curves. Additionally, the SGX Plus uses Gerber Coburn's three-axis, dry cut method of lens generating to ensure superior lens quality, while creating less mess in the lab.
The Acuity Plus Finer/Polisher offers a number of options and user benefits, making it the most flexible cylinder machine on the market. A sophisticated yet user-freindly and highly economical laboratory tool, it generates exceptionally accurate lenses by selecting the best processing times and pressures in accordance with the specified lens material: CR39, polycarbonate, hi-index or glass. This degree of precision is supported by a mechanical design providing optimized fining and polishing orbits.
Choose a location with good ventilation and an air exchange rate of 4-5 times per hour. A normal heating/air conditioning system will provide 3-6 air exchanges per hour. It should be located in a low traffic area to minimize the potential for dust contamination, yet be close enough to other functions in the lab for good production flow. A separate clean environment is not necessary (although a location right next an edger is not ideal either).
The work bench on which the Coater and the Cure Unit will be placed should be approximately 36" inches in height. This height provides a comfortable working level for most operators. Some workers may need a working platform.
