The fully automated Soxtec 2050 system is used for fast and safe determinations of soluble material in food, feed, soil, polymers, paper pulp, textiles, etc. It performs the four extraction steps boiling, rinsing, solvet recovery and cup lifting unattended, just load, start then walk away. Of course, there are many other uses, so this is just naming a few. When the sample has been loaded, the solvent is added in a closed, secure system. The solvent dispenser, automatic solvent recovery and build-in fume hood limit solvent vapour to a minimum, thus ensuring a safe working environment. The systems are build according to strict EC directives, which makes the Soxtec systems explosion-safe. * The Soxtec follows official approvals, AOAC 991.36 (fat in meat), AOAC 2003.06 (fat in feed) and EPA 3541 (PAH in soil). * A fully automatic system ensures repeatable analysis conditions. * Minimised contact with solvents through solvent addition kit and automatic solvent recovery. * For maximum safety the system follow strict EC safety standards * Adjustable over-temperature setting ensures that the ignition point never is reached for any solvent. * Five times faster than Soxhlet through rapid solvent extraction by lowering the sample in the first step into the hot solvent (boiling step), then raise it above solvent level for rinsing (rinsing step). * Low solvent consumption - each sample consumes ~16 ml, giving low solvent and disposal costs. * Built in fume hood save space in the fume hood by connecting the system directly to ventilation. * Load, start, walk away…time and money savings on low operator dependency. This unit is fully serviceable, completely supported by the manufacturer, and all consumables and parts are readily available. A full test has not been run on this unit, but it did come from a working environment with little to no logged use. I can not locate the control key, but with a small jewelry screwdriver, it is easily manipulated to work with no damage to the cylinder at all. Keys are readily available, and parts ordering is extremely easy, and there are distributors for parts, service and consumables here in the states. If need be, I can put you in contact with them. I do not have a manual for this unit, but it can be obtained frree of charge from the manufacturer or distributor.
