Subject: Dry gas cooler soil remediation
This unit is a dry gas cooler. To remove water and mercury from the circuit, the gas stream is reduced in temperature using a shell and tube heat exchanger to transfer heat in the stream to a flow of cool glycol/water, reducing the gas stream to a fully saturated temperature equilibrium. Condensables are removed downstream. System liquid volume: 170 gallon estimate, inhibited ethylene glycol: 60 gallon (35% by volume), cold fill pressure (compression tank: 4 PSIG minute cold, static fill pressure (at pumps): 6.5 PSIG minute, circulation rate (total, 2 pumps): 122 GPM, pump pressure: 51 feet (22 PSIG).
